We would like to point out the observation that this Met Gala ’24 has quite a number of relatively young Africans in attendance. We continue this beautiful Sunday afternoon with more celebrations of women of African descent.
Adwoa Aboa is our first celebrant on the list. Adwoa is a model and actress with a degree in Drama. And is a true blue blood. She has featured on the cover of British Vogue and other European Vogue magazines.
Aboa has modelled with all the major brands – Calvin Klein, Fendi, DKNY, Aldo, Puma, Versace, Fenty, to name a few. She is one of Most Influential British. Best of all, she has a platform where girls can share on mental health.
Our next celebrant is Adut Akech, a runway model.. We have celebrated her on this blog recently. She is also a South Sudanese like Ayok Yai. She was born on Christmas Day on the way to Kenya, where she was bred.
Akech has been modelling since age 16 and started with Chadwick Models in Australia. She is listed as one of the new supermodels. And was voted model of the year in 2018. Is white her favourite colour? Pray tell.
And now comes Raye, a Swiss-Ghanian British singer and songwriter. She has written songs for notable stars Beyonce, Rihanna, David Guetta, John Legend, to mention a few. She made her singing debut in 2014, when she was 16. Her songs are often about her experiences.
Rachel Agatha Keen has won several awards, including Album of The Year 2024. Does she remind one of Amy Winehouse or what?Behold the queen –
