Olympian Faith Kipyegon of Kenya is a serial Olympics gold medalist, World Athletics Championships gold medalist and a 1500m world record holder. Meaning that she has won the WAC gold medal several times, Olympics 1500m race gold medal three consecutive times and is the fastest 1500m athlete in the world. On Saturday 10th August 2024, she set a new world record in the Olympics 1500m race. And is the first woman in history to win three consecutive gold medals in a single track discipline.

Introduction and Greatness:
Faith is a middle and long distance runner in the 800m, 1000m, 1500m, one mile and 5000m category. Also, she first became an Olympian twelve years ago. But was 16th in the London 2012 Olympics. In the next three Olympics, she topped the 1500m events; always winning the gold medal. That is not all. Faith is also the 1500m champion of the World Athletics Championships.
At the WAC, Olympian Faith Kipyegon won the gold in 5000m race in 2023. Before then, she went on a winning spree, amassing gold at the World Athletics Championship in 2017, 2022 and 2023. So, we submit that the 1500m gold medal, has her name permanently inscribed on it.
On this note, can we say the world seems to surrender the long distance races to Kenya, Ethiopia and Somali? These three African countries have produced champions in the track event since Africans were allowed to join international sporting events over sixty years ago. And Olympian Faith Kipyegon is proving that point over and over again.
